This ones great for every day mental-health and entrepreneur dreamers. We all have something that plays inthe back of our mind and clogs up prescious space in our head. For this article I invite you to take one small step to overcoming a fear and observe how this makes you feel,

What stops you achieving your dreams? Most likely it’s fear in one form or another. Scared to be judged, scared to take a test, scared of getting started, scared of failure…

Make a list of anything you fear big or small, and overcome them in small steps one by one and I guarantee you’ll feel like you’re capable of anything.

We’re serious here, we believe success in any form is a matter of the ability to overcome. Now if you programme your brain with the familiar pattern of distancing yourself when faced with a fear, then surely you’re only strengthinging “flight” rather than “fight.”

Right so doing this is almost like resisting a natural instict which is why we do tend to distance ourself in the emotion of fear. But if we can reprogramme our mind, and train our brain in to sensing fear, processing and accepting the fear, then taking minor steps forward to overcome that fear how do you think our brain will react when the next fearful event comes along? That’s right we get stronger, facing fear isn’t an unfamiliar feeling! We’re in the mindset to overcome, and each time you succeed, your will gets stronger, your confidence improves, you become fearless!

So about the list of fears you’re about to create, go back to a time when you got nervous, sacred or embarrassed. Remember the events that made you feel this way and list them. Now it’s up to you whether you want to take the leap into the deep end or take baby steps. That one is for you to decide as we all have different levels of fear and courage, but one thing is for sure, you must…

Remember, when you find the weak link, you can do another one of these exercises based on that one single aspect! So if you identify your career as your weak link. Do another exercise and label the individual sectors; Charisma, technical skills, creative problem solving, building client rapport, motivation.. and so on. This exercise works exceptionally well if you get another person who knows you well to complete the wheel for you. Self-awareness and honesty is critical to get the most out of this one.

Mental detox, Negative energy

Time for a change? Try this mental detox

Social media, the radio, TV (particularly the news), acquaintances and even friends are known to be the main sources of shaping many of your perspectives and it’s clear to see how. We spend a high percentage of our lives around these things (and people) and according to renowned psychologists and NLP pioneers, John Grinder and Richard Bandler, we become are heavily influenced by the time we spend with these people or things.

So, you have your own mind and don’t let anything influence your thoughts? How can you be so sure? Who’s to say you’re not just influenced by someone else who thinks a similar mindset? Not convinced yet? Try opening up your mind, science and psychology say we become a product of our surroundings, therefore the soul inside you may not have the chance to develop in a unique way. Think about it, how much time do you spend thinking outside of the box being convinced by bias “evidence” of things you see on the news? Some people call this “brainwashing.” Can you afford to go through life without really detoxing your mind of all the toxicity in your brain that you didn’t know was there? Open your mind, question what you hear, and don’t be easily led.

So how is all this detoxing done?

Well, there is no one single answer as every person has a unique way of stimulating their minds and letting go of things they’ve been led to believe all their lives.

Step 1 Challenge. When watching TV and spending time with friends, challenge what you hear and weigh up the source of information. Is their view bias? Are they educated on the matter? Is their view one dimensional, out of bitterness, or maybe intended to be persuasive?

Step 2 Distance yourself. If this is something you’re experimenting, you will more than likely have to distance yourself from the main sources, or at least control them. Examples? Social media is the big one, where people scroll for hours through content posted with the intention of creating some kind of jealousy, attention seeking or boasting. Either hide these profiles or follow more positive pages, you have to stay clear of this toxic and highly infectious energy. The same goes for acquaintances, we all have that colleague who talks about themselves constantly zzzzzzzz ego, ego, and more ego. Either set an example for them and don’t take their negativity personally.

Step 3 Mental release. Guided meditation, it has endless mental benefits and is extremely effective and psychologically proven when it comes to clearing your mind, and starting a new fresh phase of your life when it’s time for a change. Many people use meditation as a way of “unlearning” much of the brainwashed perspectives consumed throughout life. If you haven’t tried meditation you’re missing out, all you need is a quiet space, and you can find thousands of beginner videos on YouTube. We recommend the account of J-Bittersweet who does a useful 30-day challenge.

And that’s it! The three steps, challenge distance, and release. Treat these steps like three filters to prevent negativity entering your life for a clean fresh start to a new era. This should be an going process, and the results are likely to increase over time. Check back for part two of this article as we get a little deeper next time around.
